Within the framework of ECOSENS WP1 – A collaborative assessment of energy worlds, an online survey was administered to various stakeholders in several EU countries to evaluate the adoption of recommendations regarding stakeholder engagement in energy governance within the nuclear sector. Although the importance of participatory governance in nuclear energy is generally recognised, it is not widely implemented across EU countries. Transparency and reliable information are key to fostering effective stakeholder engagement in energy governance. The findings are expected to provide actionable insights to improve societal dialogue on energy governance and the inclusion of social considerations in technology and sustainability assessments of nuclear energy.
